Talking about favorite music with Jefferson I had to mention this album which is one of my all-time favorites! Such beautiful music. I have all of her CDs but this is still the very best.

Enya - Watermark

This too belongs into the category "epic music soundtracks". Awesome.

Requiem for a dream

I do not quite remember how it came about that I stumbled into this video. But I must confess that it immediately crawled up and down my spine and I have been hooked ever since.

This is music I would not ordinarily come across as I don't play video games, do not watch comics that were made into movies and certainly don't watch those brainless action movies. And I would never have guessed that the music alone would make it worthwhile.

For me there is a whole new world of music to be discovered.

Epic Music compilation 2012

The music from the Cloud Atlas trailer. Awesome.

M83 - Outro

My favourites when I'm in the mood for this kind of music :-)

Wasted her life and her fantastic talent.

Whitney Houston

Going through my YouTube favorites to see if I can find them on other video sites, I found this on Vimeo. Absolutely love it and I do like the comment.

For those of you who have no idea what it feels like to be subject to censorship.

This is what we get for most content on YouTube. The site has become nearly useless to us because even private videos that have some kind of soundtrack are blocked.

It is disgusting and - if only they would realize it before it's too late - totally contrary to their intentions. Greed often backfires, as it will in this case.

GEMA Censorship in Germany

Saw this on Borderline's blog and just had to reblog it.

Very cool :-)

This is probably old news to many but I seriously love this tool.

Extract the music from YouTube videos and download the mp3 file. Works like a charm.

One of my all-time favorites :-)

Xavier Naidoo - Sie sieht mich einfach nicht

Sie Sieht Mich Nicht by Xavier Naidoo on Grooveshark

When she passes by, it seems like fireworks.
In front of a sky, it is her that I see
Only a king is worth her majesty
And I am little kingly
She just sees me not.

When she dances, everything dances, her hips and arms.
Everything lightens up in the shine of this lady.
She has the grace and purity, which the others do not have.
She has everything I have not.
She just doesn't see me.

The closer I get to her,
the clumsier I become.
My body, my voice, my face.
There are borders wiped away
despite millions of soldiers,
but ours cannot be overcome.

He has style, is delicate,
makes use of gestures so tender.
The easy way of life
is his nature.
He is so much, too,
what he cannot be.
Yet the women do not know
about those things
when he talks.
She just doesn't see me.

One can change so much
as long as one is ready to fight,
but this injustice ... not.

When she passes by, it seems like fireworks.
In front of a sky it is her that I see
Only a king is worth her majesty. Someone, not I.
I am little kingly.
She just sees me not.

Very poetic song by one of Germany's most popular singers and songwriters. Of course the translation doesn't do it justice, but in case you care to listen to it, you'll know what it's about.

Beautiful. Sad.

Xavier Naidoo - Halte Durch / Hold On

Halte Durch by Xavier Naidoo on Grooveshark

Every week, it's a thousand tiny tears falling gently on your pillow
(can you hear it coming, can you hear it coming, come on)
But you don't want to voice your sorrow,
you want to be strong, you have to feel
(can you hear it coming, can you hear it coming, come on)

You mustn't stop now, come on
Keep on walking, go all the way
Almost everyone we know is facing the crossroads
Finding themselves close to the edge

Maybe I can find a melody for those
with a broken heart
with an arrow piercing their chest,
with an arrow piercing their chest
Just hold on, hold on, hold on
All this will pass
If we stand up for one another
We can drive the evil spirits away
Just hold on, hold on, hold on

What's the use of brave talk
when we're dying and growing cold inside
experiencing thousands of inner disasters
I'll never find the fitting verses
How sad your song must be
even an endless scream
cannot express all this suffering
no song can be that deep

For those who don't know where to go
whose cups are filled to the brim with poison
who are persecuted, murdered, tortured
I don't believe this is what our Maker wanted
How sad your song must be
even an endless scream
cannot express all this suffering
no song can be that deep

Wow - makes listening to it ever so much more impressive because it visualizes the technical difficulty of playing this. Fascinating - beautiful to watch.

Thank you Edosan for sharing this :-)

Bach, Preludio, Sonata in E Major, Lara St. John, solo violin (ver. 4)

WeAreGeek sent me this absolutely awesome song. Never heard of Equilibrium before although it's a German group. Wow. Totally blew me away !

Equilibrium - Mana

Going through my old SU blog, weeding out the dead links, I found this awesome song. Luckily there are dozens of versions of it on YouTube. This is from a concert in Stuttgart in 2002. So here it is again. One of my favourite songs.

Blind Guardian - The Bard Song - Live

Now you all know the bards and their songs
When hours have gone by, I'll close my eyes
In a world far away we may meet again
But now hear my song about the dawn of the night
Let's sing the bards' song
Tomorrow will take us away far from home
No one will ever know our names
but the bards' songs will remain
Tomorrow will take it away the fear of today
It will be gone due to our magic songs
There's only one song left in my mind
Tales of a brave man who lived far from here
Now the bard songs are over and it's time to leave
No one should ask you for the name of the one
Who tells the story
Tomorrow will take us away far from home
No one will ever know our names
but the bards' songs will remain
Tomorrow all will be known and you're not alone
So don't be afraid in the dark and cold
'Cause the bards' songs will remain they all will remain
In my thoughts and in my dreams they're always in my mind
These songs of hobbit, dwarves and men and elves
Come close your eyes you can see them too
