 On the moor

I took a ride across to the north coast of Cornwall near Zennor and came across this unexpected sunset as the sky had been clear all day. I took a quick snapshot then drove on, not expecting it to get much better. The next image is the last of a series taken over the next 20-30 minutes as it turned into one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen.

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts,
and we are never, ever the same.”

“That pleasure which is at once the most pure, the most elevating and the most intense,
is derived, I maintain, from the contemplation of the beautiful.” ~ Edgar Allan Poe

 Denial

“So the universe is not quite as you thought it was.
You’d better rearrange your beliefs, then.
Because you certainly can’t rearrange the universe.”

Isaac Asimov

“This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anyone could have.” ~ Anonymous

Longships Lighthouse and the Isles of Scilly
 Longships & Scillies

It's unusual to be able to see the Isles of Scilly from Lands End and there's a local adage about it;
“If you can’t see them it's raining; if you can it’s going to.”

“If you're reading this...Congratulations, you're alive.
If that's not something to smile about, then I don't know what is.”

Mustvee

“Try not to become a man of success, but a man of value.
Look around at how people want to get more out of life than they put in.
A man of value will give more than he receives. Be creative,
but make sure that what you create is not a curse for mankind.”
~ Albert Einstein ~

quiet moments

Generally speaking, you aren’t learning much when your lips are moving.

“‘What’ and ‘if’ are two words as non-threatening as words can be,
but put them together side by side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life.”
